Position Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell GPI products and services in established sales territory.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the potential of each account in your territory.
  • Monitor and ensure quality customer service to customers.
  • Supervise the qualification of new packages or package revisions for customer. Plan, attend, and track trials as required in GPI and customer(s) plants.
  • Provide technical assistance in resolving quality issues with GPI cartons at customer plants as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly. Evaluate source of problem and participate in the resolution process with all involved parties.
  • Make quality sales calls on customers and prospects.
  • Develop a number of high potential prospects to guarantee future sales growth.
  • Build customer and vendor relationships and partnerships through joint planning and sales calls.
  • Communicate with internal customers. Review accounts and strategize with inside representation and other support resources.
  • Update sales manager on status of accounts and support needed to accomplish goals.
  • Track the quality performance of GPI plants supplying customer(s)
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of technologies used in the packaging industry by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Develop an in depth understand of the beverage supply chain as it relates to converting plants, customer service and research & development and packaging machinery

Key Requirements for Craft and Specialty:

  • Strong ability to sell, cultivate and manage multiple accounts, varying demands and volume.
  • Identify new markets for both Craft and Specialty, in designated geographies, developing and leading for growth.
  • Maintain the core assigned accounts.
  • Lead the overall communications, working with the local assigned Account Managers, as it relates to an overview of activities in the local brewers.

Key Requirements for MillerCoors Account:

  • Manage Leinenkugels within the MillerCoors portfolio - a large portion of business based in Chippewa Falls, WI.
  • 10th Street Brewery - fastest growing portion of the business & Craft items based in Milwaukee.
  • Strategically lead the MillerCoors brewery partnerships which include regular visits to the MillerCoors brewery locations, quarterly business reviews at the VP level, partnering with GPI machinery, GPI Continuous Improvement, on brewery initiatives.
  • Participate and or lead project work related to the Craft portion of MillerCoors business targeted for Leinenkugel, 10th Street, & Co-Pack at City Brewing.
  • Time spent understanding the day-to-day, depth and breadth of the MillerCoors organization.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and five plus (5+) years demonstrated sales experience in the folding carton industry, or equivalent combination or experience and education.
  • PC proficient in Windows-based programs and the internet.
  • The ability to deal with a variety of customers, both internal and external, in a highly professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to cold call and be willing to continue to cold call to build new business and grow segment.
  • The ability to organize and to make decisions within established guidelines and follow up and through on the right opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone, presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, and sell.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of company services/products/capabilities to customers through personal meeting and formal presentations.
