The Account Executive will provide solutions to health & welfare plan management and administrative servicing needs of client and their employees within assigned internal team.Manages book of business in the range of $450,000 to $800,000 independently and supports senior team (Producers and Senior Account Executives) on technical accounts in the range of $800,000 to $1,000,000 with group size of up to 500 lives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Client Service & Renewal Support (50% of time)

  • Acts as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers, and applies knowledge of insurance policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service and responsible advice to all clients.
    • Serves as client service lead to provide industry leading service to designated clients.
    • Works in close collaboration with Advisor/Producer and other team members on plan strategy, financial arrangements, plan benefit design, contributions, health & welfare mandates, predictive modeling, network disruption, benefit disruption, administrative impacts, pharmacy and/or service performance guarantees and customized contractual transitions as required.
    • Benchmark survey data for client and accurately evaluates client program in relation to local and national marketplace.
  • Independently manages and retains a designated small book of business, including renewals, RFP and marketing process, decisions and implementations and carrier contract reviews and amendments. Includes daily support to clients and employee benefits team.
  • Identifies potential drill down opportunities.
  • Manages ongoing client service relationships including client education, guidance and resolution of service issues.
  • Works in tandem with advisory team to gather data from clients and carriers to develop cost effective and client appropriate health & welfare solution for prospective and existing clients.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with carrier representatives and remains abreast of market developments and product offerings.
  • Manages RFP process until final carrier and plan decisions are made.
  • Collects and manages new client data, including required plan information, invoices, current contracts and other information necessary for marketing process.

Open Enrollment Support (35% of time)

  • Manages open enrollment implementations and open enrollment meetings in conjunction with your team lead.
  • Develops employee benefit communication pieces.
  • Maintains client management database entry with high degree of accuracy.

Other Duties (15% of time)

  • Builds and manages HR and employee self-service portals.
  • Coordinates the seamless new case or transfer of client coverage, including completion of necessary applications, paperwork, and enrollment materials.
  • Audits and submission of enrollment materials, guaranteeing accuracy, timely submission and verification of initial invoicing and rates.
  • Downloads monthly utilization reports.
  • Develops and maintains excellent carrier relationships and remain informed regarding industry information and new product information.
  • Maintains open and clear communication channels with clients, producers and internal team.
  • Lead and participate in special projects as needed

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

¨ Strong working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel and Power Point.

  • Strong working knowledge of self-funded health & welfare plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and group presentation skills.

Education or Formal Training:

¨ Bachelor degree in business related field preferred

  • Arizona Life and Health License required
  • Insurance designation preferred


  • Minimum five years in the employee benefits industry
  • Minimum 2 years RFP management experience preferred
  • Minimum three years in senior client management
  • Experience with Agency Management System preferred
  • Experience leading/presenting open enrollment meetings
