Position Responsibilities

The Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key client stakeholders, and the staff engaged on the assigned project.  He or she owns client retention and growth, as well as new business opportunity identification and development.  Functional expertise within MCM also expected.  Key responsibilities include:

Client Management and Development

Act as a strategic leader and advisor to IMS Health’s MCM Service’s clients to deliver value and ensure the highest level of satisfaction Identify growth opportunities in the existing client relationships, and maintain baseline business and annual growth against defined revenue and margin goals Actively listen and interpret the needs of clients to formulate appropriate recommendations and identify new areas in which IMS Health can provide value-add services Develop presentations and proposals that address client requirements and objectives with recommendations Partner with Project Management to scope and deliver on proposed solutions Support Project Management’s governance of projects and client deliverables, and manage the client to the scope of work or change order Present recommendations to client and actively manage client response to hone recommendations into viable solutions Ensure delivery of scoped deliverables meet quality and time expectations

Relationship Marketing Consulting

Work as consultant for new campaign management design and development Provide direction on metrics and measurement plan definitions Plan and deliver communications to client stakeholders, vendors and partners and internal team members

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in managing mid to large engagements across marketing project lifecycles and service delivery lines
  • 5+ years of engagement or account management experience in Marketing, Sales and / or Customer Relationship Management
  • In depth experience in Campaign Management, DatabaseMarketing, Email Marketing, and Website Development oversight
  • Working knowledge of Reporting and Analytics’ role in the Marketing and Sales environment
  • Comprehension of People, Process and Technology frameworks to deliver client recommendations
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience developing and presenting proposals that reflect and address client requirements and business objectives
  • Experience working with and presenting to Director and VP level clients
  • Experience demonstrating Customer Relationship Recommendations and Solutions to potential and existing clients


Very strong writing and presentation skills, including the ability to develop client-ready materials. Strong Analytic and interpretation skills required. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Working knowledge of MS Project, and Visio.
