Overview
Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for more than 33 years, provides expertise in the areas of:
• Agency Services: sponsorship consulting, experiential marketing, content marketing, and hospitality
•Assets – owned-and-operated media properties and live sports and lifestyle properties

Intersport is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Account Director (“AD”) position that will lead the day-to-day management of an integral piece of client business, primarily focused on Sponsorship Consulting. The AD’s focus will require a deep understanding of the golf space, and the ideal candidate should have experience leading golf governing body and/or professional tournament sponsorships, player endorsements, as well as grassroots golf initiatives. The AD will also manage an Account Executive (“AE”) that supports the business.

Responsibilities:
General
• Embodies and reflects Intersport’s performance-based culture and commits him/herself and team to the highest standards for all agency work
• Works effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence

Client Management & Communication
• Demonstrates an understanding and a passion for his/her clients’ industry, business, brand, and consumer/client target(s)
• Establishing himself/herself as a trusted strategic business partner to the client
• Demonstrates leadership in meetings and client interaction

Client Partnership & Project Management
• AD will lead and support various initiatives across client’s sports and entertainment marketing portfolio, as well as support with a specific focus on sponsorship management, sponsorship strategy, activation planning and activation execution, as well as sponsorship measurement
• Specifically, AD will lead client’s golf vertical, which is inclusive of the following: golf governing body partnership, grassroots golf marketing, player endorsement strategy, content marketing, and other related marketing activities.
• Create and maintain administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner for client and agency backup including points of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
• Ensures AE produces quality work, including research and competitive analysis
• Actively contribute in brainstorming and idea generation sessions with cross-functional teams
• Oversee vendor relationships, including contracts, payments, and oversight of the deliverable and quality of work


Reporting and Analysis
• Acts as the authority on program and partner review debriefings - analyzes and evaluates individual program and partnership
• Ensures production of timely post-event/program/season reports and provides timely updates
• Works with internal account team to adapt programming with brand, consumer, and in-market learnings
• Serves as a subject matter expert on market and related industry trends, sponsorship landscape, and competitive activities and proactively communicates insights and experiences with colleagues and clients

Budget & Financial Management
• AD will lead scope and budget management, client billings, and account team hours tracking
• Ensures comprehensive budget management, including development of program budgets and management of those budgets to achieve client needs and remain on targeted budget, along with clear, timely and accurate financialreporting (internally and to the client)

Team Management
• Works collaboratively with all members of integrated team
• Manages, trains, and mentors the AE with responsibility for goal setting, feedback, and constructive guidance


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a plus
• Minimum eight (8) plus years’ experience in a marketing role at an agency, brand, media company, sports or entertainment property, or related organization
• Direct experience in golf marketing, including a combination of leading golf governing body and/or professional tournament sponsorships, player endorsements, as well as grassroots golf initiatives on behalf of clients
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the sports and entertainment marketing landscape, specifically sponsorship marketing
• Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and organized approach
• Proven effectiveness in managing junior team members
• Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
• Previous experience with daily contact with clients and support teams
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
• Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between two to five days
