If you want a traditional "order taking sales role", this one is not for you. Critical thinking a must. The role holder will be central to the success of the Life Sciences in BT Global Services as he/she will be responsible for acquiring new business in the existing portfolio and securing opportunities for new services in the Life Sciences Vertical. The role holder will be part of the change philosophy in the bigger Life Science community on how we engage with our customers in a vertical industry knowledge base. Attending events and engaging in the broader industry experience is crucial. The role holder will be a driving force in bringing both innovation and delivering new business propositions, industry expertise and solution integration which matter to the customer and the end users (receivers).This person will be the "tip of the spear" in client engagement and new business development for the BT Life Sciences vertical client engagement model.

What you'll be doing

  • Challenge the status quo within the customer base. Break ground leveraging your existing contacts and experience to deliver though leadership to customers

  • Closing New Clients by delivering new business working closely together with solution specialists and Sales Manager of the region on new sales

  • Being the BT Ambassador for Life Sciences in the United States

  • Working with all parts of BT supporting Life Sciences to drive BT brand and propositions to meet the success and direction of Life Sciences United States stated objectives
  • Develop successful and sustainable long term relations with the clients for mutual benefit of both the clients and BT

We'll also need to see this on your resume:

  • Life Science or Pharmaceutical industry technology solution expertise

  • Strong business development /client engagement, pipeline building, opportunity qualification, deal management, business case generation, deal closure & handover

  • 7+ years of global experience with relationship management and direct sales

  • Track record of success in building relationship at C-level/senior manager/exec level

  • Has delivered or exceeded sales targets in global enterprise accounts

  • Ability to articulate technical and complex business issues and work with senior level customers and BT executives

  • Someone who can challenge and drive change in culture and thought-leadership

  • Four year college degree preferred
