Wolfspeed is Cree's Power & Radio Frequency (RF) business and one of the world's leading suppliers of gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) technology and products. Our business is growing rapidly and we are hiring an experienced RFSystems Engineer to join our team responsible for developing RF solutions for the 5G cellular infrastructure market.

What you can do for Wolfspeed:

As an RFSystems Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring semiconductor components in development integrate seamlessly into customer communication systems. You will drive the development and maintenance of characterization and evaluation tools and systems. You will interface with internal and external partners on a regular basis to ensure the company’s characterization equipment and systems meet state-of-the-art. You will be responsible to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new external partners. In addition, you will work with the team to develop reference designs around the latest product offerings and evaluate them for compliance with product specifications. Some travel will be required.

What you need for success:

  • MSc degree, PhD degreepreferred, in Electrical Engineering with focus on communication, electromagnetics, mm-wave and RF design or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in RF systems engineering.
  • Background in the design, application, and validation of high efficiency power amplifiers for cellular communication.
  • Hands-on experience with tuning and optimization of RFcircuitry.
  • Excels in the use of MATLAB for analyzing large datasets as well as automating comprehensive RF test setups, including, but not limited to spectrum analyzers, VNAs, power meters, signal sources, power supplies, and current meters.
  • Proficient in the use of common RF and EM EDA software.
  • Experience with modulated signals used in modern communications systems.
  • Excels in the use of digital pre-distortion (DPD) systems and its application towards power amplifiers for communication systems.
  • Competent with crest factor reduction (CFR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, result oriented growth business with a start-up mentality.
