Job SummaryJob DescriptionDUTIES: Manage team responsible for developing software components for FreeWheel's advertising platform products and closely work with the FreeWheel Client Team to deliver white-glove level services to clients; lead team in the planning, designing, building, and launching of new data products, using Snowflake and Spark, and AWS Cloud technologies; help build a new-generation data platform, Video Integration products, Linear Integration products and new web frontend frameworks; guide, mentor, and grow the team, identifying the required skills, hiring the best talent, actively managing their performance and helping them grow; manage data held in RDBMS using SQL in order to drive data quality across data products and related business areas; manage projects from design to testing, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications; advocate for improvements to data quality, security, and performance; ensure on-time delivery of solutions without sacrificing sustainability and avoiding technical debt; iterate on regular process meetings; provide guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements; oversee the development of applications in Java, Scala, Go, and Python for Beeswax data products; serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering and other teams; manage all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets; monitor project progress and report findings to the leadership team; initiate, influence, and drive a diverse set of data-oriented problems; design, create, implement, maintain, and test data pipelines for large datasets to support our data processing, analytics, and product needs; lead technical roadmap projects; and conduct work performance reviews. In performing duties, directly supervise three (3) or more software engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and six (6) years of experience coding in Java, Scala, Go, or Python to develop data products; of which four (4) years must include utilizing SQL to manage data held in a relational database management system; working with AWS cloud technologies; creating and maintaining data processing pipelines for large datasets; and of which two (2) years must include leading technical roadmap projects.
SALARY: $142,779 to $235,000 per year
