#31776 Date Available: (2024-2025) School Year Qualifications: Education/Certification - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting with three (3) years of experience OR
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience
- Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Experience - Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in business or contracts with a Bachelor's degree OR
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in business or contracts with a High School diploma or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills - Attention to detail, with a strong understanding of contract documents and the construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of business software applications
- Advanced knowledge of construction contract law and a high degree of skill in negotiating and drafting complex contractual instruments
- Possess a positive customer-sensitive attitude
- Ability to organize, analyze, and present data
- Ability to communicate articulately in written and verbal form
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of various construction procurement methods available to Texas public schools.
- Adaptive to a changing work environment and able to continually improve operations
Major Responsibilities and Duties - Reviews terms and conditions of each contract and coordinates further review as necessary.
- Track and report annual insurance requirements as they relate to contractual agreements.
- Establish the overall contract review process and associated workflow.
- Work with counsel to ensure contracts are in compliance with Federal, State, and local government laws and policies.
- Provides recommendations and negotiates with parties involved, attorneys, and purchasing to develop solutions for contracts.
- Maintains contractual records and documentation and controls contract correspondence, information, and reports.
- Provides contract status reports to the Director and maintains documents in the document management system.
- Track and report project schedule compliance with contractual obligations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Other - The duration of this assignment is limited to the duration of the program, currently estimated at the end of 2028 or upon additional projects being approved and funded.
