UCT is looking for a talented Manager of Facilities & EHS to join our Chandler team! The Manager of Facilities & EHS at UCT is responsible for preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance for facilities, systems, and machinery in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities also include planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages budget for facilities, equipment maintenance and repair expenditures.
  • Develops and maintains preventive maintenance programs.
  • Monitors and reports equipment uptime metrics to optimize capital asset return.
  • Initiates and manages facilities and equipment improvement projects to accommodate operations capacity expansion.
  • Assures the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, etc.
  • Maintains capital equipment including overseeing maintenance, safety, and movement of machinery.
  • Manages a staff of employees in the maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  • Oversees contractors for facilities renovation project entailing, HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangement, etc.
  • Assures that our facility complies with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental law, regulations and standards; maintaining permits and the coordination of worker’s compensation programs; certification and inspection of facilities and systems.
  • Manages government agency inspections concerning safety, environmental or ergonomic issues.
  • Develops, leads and manages organization-wide strategies for occupational health and safety, workplace wellness, and workers compensationclaims.
  • Maintains updated EPA and OSHArequired written programs and recommend / conduct training as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Conducts ongoing safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections of facilities, operations and equipment to insure compliance to safety and environmental regulations and a safe working environment for all employees. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management.
  • Assists in the administration of the workers compensation program. Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis and prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Compile, analyze, interpret and report accident, loss and exposure statistical data.
  • Ensures safety policies are followed and provide guidance on safety related discipline.
  • Provides emergency response to problems in facility including first aid, security, safety-related complaints or inspections.
  • Trains and assist employees and management to complete their Safety responsibilities
  • Develops metrics to support and drive safety performance.
  • Develops and maintain new hire orientation training programs.
  • Develops training for service technicians and facilities associates.
  • Develops and maintain good working relationships with seniors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Develops business plans, provide guidance and direction for successful implementation of plans.
  • Oversees and directs local, county, state, and federal facilities, safety, and other related programs and requirements.
  • Initiates the project planning and cost analysis for the Facilities department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • First-Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.
  • Excellent computer skills in a network environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with employees, management and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies and/or employees.
  • Occasional evening / weekend work required.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.


Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of related facilities experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience overseeing Safety programs.

Environmental Exposure:

    • Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals and debris.
    • Required to wear personal protective equipment.
    • Subject to noise levels and vibrations.
    • Exposure to road hazards.
    • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
    • Subject to frequent interruptions.

Overnight Travel:

    • Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
