The Water Environment Federation is seeking a Product Manager to join its team. The Product Manager will primarily be responsible for managing sales and distribution for multiple WEF products including technical publications, as well as, monitoring and maintaining e-commerce and inventory activities.

Principal Functions will include:

  • Manage sales, marketing, distribution, and inventory for all WEF products
  • Develop P&L statements and business plans for new technical publications; set annual budget; provide monthly projections and trends reports
  • Serve as product lead on cross-departmental teams that support major product releases such as operations manuals, the Knowledge Center and study guides
  • Oversee the e-commerce site and maintain and monitor product content
  • Ensure WEF warehouse has adequate stock and follows fulfillment and inventory procedures
  • Act as primary staff contact for customer service regarding publications-related inquiries
  • Collaborate with Marketing, ensuring all products have maximum exposure
  • Serve as primary staff contact for online host Ingenta and coordinate conference proceedings upload
  • Work with partners such as TrendMD and PubMed to improve discoverability of WEF content
  • Manage the WEF Bookstore at WEFTEC and other WEF conferences
  • Collaborate and coordinate creative efforts for WEF programs, including production of print and promotional materials
  • Manage production of public education materials and WEF collateral
  • Function as support and backup to the marketing project management system (TeamWork)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years publishingexperiencerequired, experience with book management highly desired
  • Proven experience and proficiency working in complex databases (association management, inventory management, or equivalent) required
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and demonstrated comfort level owning projects
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Association experiencepreferred
  • Excellent client service, strong communication and management skills, proven writing experience
  • Ability to develop and stay within project budgets
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Macintosh Operating System and Adobe Creative Suitepreferred
  • Familiarity with postal regulations and mailing procedures
  • This person will work primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment.
