Right now, we are seeking a Lead Analyst – Risk Modeling, based at Western Union’s global headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.

This position is with the Risk Modeling & Statistics team, and will support risk modeling and analytics reporting throughout the Global Compliance organization. These models target AML/Fraud risk associated with Western Union’s Agents, consumers, corridors, products, and geographies. Responsibilities will align with the following areas:

  • Data acquisition and processing (ETL and feature engineering and processing)
  • Data analysis and modeling
  • Implementation of predictive risk models
  • Presentation of information and findings (including analytics reporting)
  • Interfacing with stakeholders (gathering requirements, sharing insights, using feedback to improve and enhance)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative filed (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance), Masters preferred
  • Strong experience working RDBMS architectures such SQL, DB2, MySQL or other relational databases and relational database programming (including DDL and procedures)
  • Experience with NoSQL type databases preferred
  • Strong experience with data manipulation and analytical processing (Python preferred)
  • Experience with data visualization required, front-end web (d3.js, etc.) is a plus
  • Real world experience performing data mining and statistical modeling (using R or Python) is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a Linux environment is a plus
  • Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem is a plus
  • Strong data management skills with experience working with large data sets
  • Multiple years of functional programming experience and knowledge of programming concepts
  • Experience with analytical processing, with emphasis on development and performance testing
  • Good data visualization skills
  • Desire to constantly learn and evolve technical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, prioritization, decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative mindset
  • Demonstrated experience delivering well documented data requirements, translating business requirements into technical requirements
