Electronics and Safety provides critical components, systems and advanced software for passenger safety, security, comfort and infotainment, as well as vehicle operation, including body controls, reception systems, and connectivity systems, hybrid vehicle power electronics, passive and active safety electronics, displays, and mechatronics. We have an exciting opportunity for a System Architect. This position will be located in Kokomo, Indiana.


A System Architect is responsible for providing both leadership and technical direction at the component level. Initiatives will include current project execution and pursuit of new business. The position requires depth and breadth with respect to embedded system knowledge, specifically in the automotive connectivity and infotainment domain. Responsibilities include system level design and development, definition of product requirements, product roadmap, setting priority, and generation of high-level architectural specifications. Individual must be self-motivated, excited about new technology and ready to take on new challenges.


  • Serve as system architect and subject matter expert for applicable domain
  • Manage and resolve technical issues.
  • Support program teams with activities such as planning, estimating, and developing requirements in compliance with the established development process.
  • Work with customer at program initiation to analyze customer requirements and to enter them into requirements management tool.
  • Document system/software architecture in an unambiguous, clear, and understandable way that electrical, mechanical and software engineers know exactly what they have to do in order to meet customer expectations.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and scientific methods affecting the organization with regard to new product development and business pursuit.
  • Support RFQ activities related to component.
  • Support internal organizations for such items as product DFMEA, Schematic Reviews, Warranty, Diagnostics, DVP&R, and special investigations.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of System Architect design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in of Multi Core CPUs and multiple processor system design

  • Knowledge of Linux and/or QNX development environments and operating systems

  • Knowledge of Software Engineering Process and project management

  • Experience in using DFSS and structured problem solving technics

  • Experience working in an agile design and development team environment

  • Excellent communication skills and leadership abilities

  • Experience working in a global team environment

  • Experience/Knowledge in consumer or automotive electronics domain

  • Experience in embedded software development and familiarity with C/C++/Java programming languages

  • Experience with security, embedded platforms, and applications

  • Six-sigma green belt certification

  • Experience with connectivity including LTE and Wi-Fi

  • Experience with telematics

  • Experience of reviewing HW/EE schematics
