This position is with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company—the second-largest U.S. tobacco company. The company's brands include Newport, Camel and Pall Mall.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of RAIIC Product Commercialization and is responsible for providing leadership and direction in the RAIIC Op Co for the planning, coordination, and implementation of new brand launches, New Growth Initiatives and product/packaging changes. Particular focus and primary accountability are on the manufacturing and commercialization aspects, while ensuring both process capability assessment, as well as, accurate, timely, innovative, and cost-effective execution from concept to market introduction.  This role also serves as primary contact for any brand-related Supply Chain issues from other functional areas, both internally and externally.   This role is also responsible for company-wide regulatory and CSR initiatives.  Position requires approximately 30% international travel. 

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as Consumer Marketing liaison for all new brand launches, New Growth Initiatives and product/packaging changes

Drive continuous process improvement by recognizing unnecessary complexities and process gaps and proactively engaging the appropriate stakeholders to formulate and execute effective solutions

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of program planning requirements and the complex processes/system requirements for RAIIC

Develop strategic and cost-effective plans while minimizing operational impacts and business risks

Develop and maintain strong project teams across assigned RAIIC through open, transparent communications and early/frequent engagement

Ensure compliance with prescribed time fences within Cycle Planning/MRM while meeting budget expectations

Analyze and develop plans to minimize the impact of product change-overs and monitor associated inventory levels as it relates to new program implementation

Maintain an awareness of latest trends and/or technology for opportunities to enhance innovation

Gain an in-depth knowledge of assigned RAIIC business strategies, providing input into development and flawless execution of approved plans.  Includes sharing accountability/ownership of assigned business performance metrics

Maintain current knowledge of policies and government regulations and their impact to assigned RAIIC

Demonstrate credibility as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the product planning processes

Manage the impact of product life cycles in the marketplace to minimize write-off of finished goods & NTMs

Maintain transparent and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within and external to Operations

Drive business case development of new product/program launches to deliver financial targets within budgetary estimates

 

 

Job Requirements:

Education:           

High School Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of relevant progressive work experience; or

AssociateDegree in EngineeringTechnology, Business, or related field and 9+ years of relevant work experience; or

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant field and 7+ years of relevant work experience

Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business or relevant field and 5+ years of relevant work experience

 

Experience:         

General knowledge of all functional areas of RJRT, Niconovum and RAI Innovations Company

Proven track record of leadership, change management and team building

Basic understanding of industry trends and competitive strategic outlook in order to identify opportunities

 

Required Skills:    

Excellent written/oral communication, negotiation, decision making and analytical problem solving skills

Possess an in-depth understanding of RAIIC, Engineering and Supply Chain, along with a basic understanding of other functional areas (i.e., Marketing and Trade Customers, Demand Planning, Graphic Design Agencies, R&D Product Standards, Product Development, and Customer Service)

Ability to develop and direct strategies, anticipate emerging issues and get results across RAIIC in a complex multi-functional environment

Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to lead and drive the execution of multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to rapidly changing priorities

Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP) and the ability to quickly learn new computer skills

Demonstrated leadership skills and representation of company core values

Demonstrated ability to identify obstacles and problems and to implement resolutions that meet company objectives

 

Preferred Skills:

Ability to self-direct, be pro-active and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

Previous experience in Operations (Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain)

Proficiency with use of MRM system

Proficiency with use of PDM specs system

 

Physical Requirements:     

Regular attendance at work

Approximately 30% international travel
