Job Summary:

Manages the daily operations of the assigned area(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Develops specific departmental goals, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians and other departments.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagement.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.

  • Develops budget for supplies, personnel, capital equipment and special programs in collaboration with Surgery Administration. Assists with monitoring and analyzing budget variances and developing plan of action to achieve budgetary targets. All other duties as assigned.
  • Establishes staffing and productivity levels in collaboration with Surgery Administration. Monitors and adjusts staffing levels in accordance with variable staffing guidelines and productivity targets. Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of staff as requested for the department.
  • Monitors patient, physician, and associate satisfaction. Develops and implements action plans to improve and maintain satisfaction goals.


Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
    • One or more of the following:
      • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). 
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). 

Education:

  • Bachelor's LevelDegree 
    • BSN Degree or higher preferred

Work Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a leadership role preferred. OR experiencerequired.
