The Director of Operations is responsible for all aspects of both restaurant and reports directly to Owners and Senior Management as assigned. To oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve the stated objectives in sales, costs, profit, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, cleanliness, food quality, legal compliance, and sanitation. The minimum requirement for this position is 50 hours per weekwith the expectation that more hours may be required to get all required jobs accomplished effectively.

  • Expected to operate at different times and days in order to oversee operating hours of both stores

The following is a list of expectations for the person holding this position:

  • Understand and enforce all policies, procedures, specifications, and guidelines for Moe’s Southwest Grill
  • To ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given prompt, friendly and courteous service at all times
  • Achieve company goals in sales to meet or exceed the annual budget
  • Achieve company goals in costs by keeping Cost of Goods and Labor as stated in the budget as well as managing all other expenditures of the restaurant to ensure profitability of daily, weekly and yearly operations
  • Achieve companywide goals in profit by meeting or exceeding the store's determined profitability for the fiscal year and working towards decreasing total company expenditures wherever possible
  • Achieve company goals in employee retentionwith turnover under 100% for the year by creating the proper working environment, good hiring practices, thorough training and reinforcement
  • Achieve company goals in restaurant appearance and function through proper management, good preventative maintenance and ongoing assessment of functionality and performance of equipment and staff. Receive a 90 or better on all ROSE reportinspections
  • Achieve company goals in food quality and sanitation and maintain the building and operations to achieve a minimum of 90 on all Health Inspections and a 90 or better on all Steritech Audits
  • Create a positive, productive and fun work environment for all employees
  • Maintain a fun, enjoyable atmosphere for all customers
  • Control cash and receipts in accordance with all policies regarding cash handling procedures
  • All hiring, discipline, counseling, training, and termination of staff and Junior management positions in accordance with the requirements set by the Owner’s and Moe’s Southwest Grill Corporate
  • Prepare all required paperwork including forms, payroll, schedules, and reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain legal compliance in all areas with additional focus on labor practices and DLC laws
  • Ensure that Store Managers are keeping equipment clean and in good repair and operation for the restaurant.
  • Ensure that Store managers are keeping restaurants in good repair and fully equipped.
  • Ensures Managers consistently maintain correct placement and receiving of all orders for food, paper supplies, small wares and equipment as necessary for proper operation of the restaurant
  • Oversee all schedules for management and staff
  • Perform regular checks of food quality, sanitation and cleanliness standards as set by Moe’s Southwest Grill
  • Coordinate management and marketing meetings as well as execution of marketing and event tasks when assigned
  • Ensure that Store Managers are consistently and effectively holding staff meetings and brief daily shift briefings
  • Constantly search for ideas to promote additional sales and better operating practices
  • Ensure constant communications between Owners, Focus Brands, Customers, Vendors, Contractors (such as night cleaners) and Legal authorities
  • Recommend to ownership any operational change, capital expenditures, improvements, contracts vendors etc. other than those mandated by Moe’s corporate/Focus Brands
  • Responsible for all Human Resource functions including but not limited to recruiting, selecting, hiring, training, counseling, disciplinary actions for all positions in both stores.
  • Responsible for training and development of all supervisory and management personnel
  • Coordinate with the Executive Administrator correct administration of all Human Resource functions
  • Identify and develop future management and shift leaders
  • Ensure maintenance and cleaning of all company vehicles
  • And other duties as assigned
