We are seeking candidates for an Assistant Research Professor position in the laboratory of Dr. Jaeyeon Kim, an assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kim’s laboratory studies molecular mechanisms of ovarian cancer, particularly high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC). Research focuses on: (1) identifying the HGSC cell of origin using lineage tracing in mice; (2) the role of DICER and microRNAs in HGSC; and (3) early genetic and molecular changes driving HGSC, using genomic, genetic, cellular, and molecular approaches.

Applicants must have a doctorate degree in biological or biomedical sciences. Critical for a successful candidate is extensive experience with genetically engineered mouse models of ovarian or other solid tumors. In-depth knowledge of reproductive and developmental biology is also desirable. Essential is technical expertise in molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches, which include: cloning, cell culture, western blot, protein expression, QPCR, siRNA or shRNA-based gene silencing, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, CRISPR/Cas9-based gene deletion or editing in cells and mice, and designing and cloning targeting vectors for genetically engineered mouse models. In addition to conducting research, the successful candidate will assist with lab management and supervising research programs and personnel.
