Director Cash Applications and Customer Service
Under the direct management of the Assistant Vice President of Patient Financial Services, the Director of Cash Applications & Customer Service plans, leads and directs the work of staff and functions critical to successful revenue cycle operations for the entire Lexington County Health Services District. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish defined goals, and oversee complicated processes. The position performs within the constraints of large numbers of differing rules to perform a large volume of tasks which must be performed accurately, concisely, timely, efficiently, and within strict standards. The area/positions which report up through the Director of Cash Applications & Customer Service include at a minimum:
Insurance and Patient Refunds
Self-Pay Accounts Receivable Management
Bad Debt collection and control
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred. CHFP, FHFMA, CRCA, or CPAM certification is a plus.
Five to seven years' experience with evidence of progressively increasing responsibility in a hospital setting involving successful receivable and/or cash management. Three to five of these must be in a supervisory or management capacity. Hospital experience must be business-operations related.
Experience and performance that reflects a results-oriented approach to management.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, communicate with, and lead personnel in an organizational setting.
A thorough understanding of healthcare technology and computerized patient accounting systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and the concept of checks and balances.
