BMO InvestorLine was ranked “Top Banked owned Online Broker” by Globe and Mail in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and has received the Morningstar’s “Best use of Technology” Award in 2012.  Our goal is to continue to improve our solutions and service offerings to our customers while increasing the bank’s online sales revenue.  The Wealth Management Technology team supports the BMO InvestorLine business through the development and support of the InvestorLine Self Directed, adviceDirect, and Mobile Applications.   The Senior Technical Specialist acts as the technical architect and is responsible for discovery sessions, working with the Enterprise Architect, handle the creation of high-level design and triage.  This Senior Technical Specialist is a technical subject matter expert, primarily focused on wealth management, specifically the direct and full-service brokerage.   As a member of the BMO Wealth Management Technology Development team, you will be part of a winning team developing upcoming bleeding-edge technology and features and the next generation of Online Self Direct Investment and adviceDirect platforms.  You will be encouraged to share and implement your innovative ideas in every project you will be working on.   Accountabilities •Ensure ongoingInformation Technology (IT) health by creating and evolving the technical design to support current and foreseeable changes due to new technical or business requirements; and to support reuse byother Lines of Business (LOBs) and/orchannels•Collaborate with senior management (e.g.,Technology Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, Platform Development, Assessment Services Managers, Strategic Planning Managers, etc.) andshare expertise•Identify, analyze, and implement a design framework for building thetechnology•Ensure that the technical approach is consistent with Enterprise/LOB-wide initiatives•LeadInformation Technology (IT) in the selection of new business software and tools•Coach and mentor junior IT staff•Participate in the Technical Strategy in support of the lines of business•Provide solutions, high levelarchitecture, and detailed design to meet the business requirements 

Qualifications

 University degree and/or advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent •7+ years systems experience, both hands-on and as a leader •Solid business knowledge of wealth management and brokerage; and relevant systems knowledge (e.g. BPS, Market and research data platforms, etc.) is an asset •Demonstrated expert understanding of Enterprise methodologies, such as ITIL / CMMI, SDLC, the best practices, and documentation standards •Strong experience with Java, J2EE technologies, Services Oriented Architecture, Oracle and Oracle Forms •Track record of providing high level estimates and solutions architecture based on requirements  •Extensive experience in implementing processes at an organizational level using CMMI or ITIL Expert technical skills and is able to learn and apply new skills quickly •Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
