Job Overview:

At eero, we’re building the connected home of the future and are looking for a product-focused Android engineer to help make that happen. Our Experience team, consisting of mobile, cloud, and embedded engineers, works on key user-facing features built around the user experience. As an Androidexperience engineer, you will work closely with product and design to identify, prototype, and execute on future consumer experiences. eero’s Android app is essential to connecting the consumer to their home network, giving them full control of their WiFi and connected devices. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating new frameworks and tools, mentoring fellow engineers, improving our build process, and shaping eero’s future roadmap.

What you'll do:

  • Join an autonomous, full-stack team dedicated to creating a seamless user experience and building new features
  • Collaborate with peers across the product, design, QA, cloud, embedded teams
  • Evaluate new frameworks and tools to help guide the future of the eero app
  • Support the growth of the Android team through thoughtful leadership and mentorship
  • Act as a thought leader when it comes to evaluating new frameworks and tools for the app

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of Android development experience
  • Is excited by new technologies like RxJava, Dagger, and Kotlin
  • Can have high-level architectural discussions about how to grow the eero app (familiar with MVP, Clean, or MVVM and can evaluate the benefits of each).
  • Has a BS/MSdegree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • Cares about testing and writing testable code
  • Is eager to share past failures and successes with previous designs and build new implementations
  • Enjoys simplifying and scaling build, test, and deployment processes
  • Understands how to balance immediate product needs with long-term project health and maintainability
  • Follows the latest news and trends in the Android community
  • Appreciates good design and user experiences
  • Is comfortable working with a fast-paced releaseschedule

Bonus Points:

  • Has side projects or published apps
  • Is familiar with the Bluetooth stack
  • Has worked with React Native
