SUMMARY of Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with Distribution Center Management and Corporate Human Resources in supporting a designated Distribution Center. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Assist managers with all recruitment & coordinating efforts for all employees
  • Organize and manage new-employee onboarding and coordinate with hiring managers to ensure an effective new hire experience
  • Handles all pre-employment and new hire paperwork and documentation including verifying I9 documentation and entering new hire information into the requiredHRIS systems, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, regulations, and interface with the company’s corporate headquarters’ departments
  • Assists with evaluation of reports and decisions in relation to established distribution center goals; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated good judgment and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment
  • Excellent time management, follow-through, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
  • Guide managers in employee relations counseling and conducts exit interviews
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Distribution Center Manager and corporate headquarters’

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree or the equivalent years of training courses
  • 4+ years of experience working in Human Resources
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Distribution / Warehouse environment
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superb written and spoken communication skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Human Resources or related field
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
  • Ability to speak Spanish
