Job Description

The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for developing and managing capital, service and ETO contract proposals for the Metal Recycling business unit. This position also performs various tasks associated with the award, execution, and reporting for MRE Products and Services to include the proper reporting of sales opportunities, contract awards and active projects under their oversight.  The Contract Manager will be responsible for supporting the definition and active management of the product portfolio supported under the MRE business line.

  • Receives and organizes incoming RFQs for proposals
  • Collaborates with proposal and project stakeholders to determine schedule priority for current RFQs
  • Schedules, allocates, and monitors the work on all proposals
  • Leads in technical decisions and coordination of technical details with the sales force, client and vendors
  • Responds to inquiries about the technical aspects of the Metso’s products and related services
  • Ensures complete technical description of quoted equipment to be included in the proposal
  • Completes bid documents required as part of each RFQ for submittal to the client
  • Prepares and maintains “as quoted” and “as sold” budgets for all opportunities and won contracts
  • Maintains Salesforcedate relevant to current proposals in collaboration with Sales Managers and Contract Management Team
  • Participates in regularly scheduled quotation review meetings to ensure that all proposals and active contracts are being prepared, offered, and executed in accordance with Metso and MRE policies
  • Gathers and organizes “as sold” documentation for won projects to be distributed to engineering, service and procurement teams in kick off meetings
  • Establishes and monitors controls on budgets, cash flows, and schedules
  • Initiates action for deviations
  • Reports monthly or more frequently if necessary, on complete contract status including cost projections
  • Compiles and issues correspondence, including client letters, change orders, invoices, insurance documents, bonds, etc. 
  • Manages all significant customer correspondence
  • Effects resolution of subcontractor, interdepartmental, and client related problems and issues
  • Manages complaints and issues affecting customer orders
  • Collaborates with Field Service team to manage and coordinate field work
  • Negotiates contract close out with subcontractors and clients
  • Mentors and trains junior Contract Managers and other MRE personnel as needed



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mechanical/Electrical or Civil Engineering or the equivalent experience commensurate with the knowledge gained through completion of one of the above degrees in lieu of a degree
  • 7+ years’ project or contract management/related experience
  • Proven experience in functions such as contracts, commercial terms, and scheduling and cost control
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy
  • Experience with SAP and CRM software/databases
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to use or learnSAP and CRM databases
  • Ability to learn new software tools for analysis
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, sales personnel and proposal personnel
  • Fluency in English to support speaking and writing to properly, effectively and efficiently handle face-to-face and other oral communication, the preparation and review of technical documents, proposals, commercial terms, and the distribution of project related notices
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple assignments with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to travel up to 40% both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and listening)



  • Proven experience in functions such as product design, procurement, fabrication, quality control a plus
