Serve as a Project Specialist and Subject Matter Expert for submarine communication systems related to the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) and communications antennas. Work independently or supervise small groups to successfully complete projects and deal directly with customers. Assist in the design, development, and implementation of submarine communication systems for all current and future submarine classes. Participate in system engineering and integration team meetings; develop documentation and training materials for active duty personnel. Maintain a broad knowledge base of operations and employment for both current and advanced submarine communication systems.
What You Need To Bring To The Table (Required Qualifications):
At least 10 years relevant submarine External Communications System (ECS) operations and/or maintenance experience.
Experience with submarine ECS (CSRR and/or antenna), control and management (C&M) software, and communications test equipment.
Operations and/or maintenance experience with other submarine electromagnetic systems such as: AN/BLQ-10, AN/BVS-1, or Integrated Submarine Imaging System (ISIS).
Experience in a training command and/or responsibility for tactical training.
Any of the following is strongly desired and preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math.
Deployed experience as Chief of the Boat.
A detailed understanding of Navy Communications doctrine and procedures including preparation, formatting, transmission, handling, and routing of message traffic.
Information Assurance experience (DoD IA Workforce Credentialed)
Experience with new construction of submarines at a shipbuilder facility.
Master Training Specialist (MTS) or Navy instructor training graduate.
