We are currently seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager for the Virginia market.

The Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) will provide comprehensiveHR support in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition and management,compensation, employmentlaw/compliance, benefits, organizational effectiveness, and learning and development. Working closely with the Regional Vice President, RHRM will serve as a strategic business partner executing the design, implementation, administration and monitoring of best practices and programs within the specified region. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Positively communicate and demonstrate the company’s Core Values by developing trust and respect among peers and staff, building strong teams and partnerships and driving results
  • Provide tactical guidance and input regarding HR strategies that support the vision, culture, and business needs of the organization
  • Act as the key interface between corporate HR and the stores in order to proactively support and add value in the delivery of business objectives
  • Visit stores and build trusting consultative relationships with employees and store management
  • Overall management to achieve customer satisfaction while supporting the development of a customer service culture in the stores
  • Manage all generalist duties for the region:
    • Support the region in establishing and executing an effective recruiting strategy (short and long term) and work with the region to source, recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for management and staff openings; Coordinate and facilitate onsite job fairs for grand openings
    • Train store, district, and regional management in all areas of human capital management including: policy and procedure, leadership skills and development, sexual harassment, talent acquisition, performance management, terminations, and benefits
    • Coordinate performance management program by ensuring performance expectations and policy guidelines are being met, and are conducted effectively and in a timely manner
    • Handle various employee relations issues, such as investigating employees complaints, resolving employee conflicts and advising appropriate action to store management
    • Assist with the benefits open enrollment process by facilitating and conducting meetings for store locations
    • Serve as a resource to field team members for answering general benefit questions and provide advice on unemployment hearings and workers' compensation hearing
    • Partner with internal and/or external legal counsel to prepare for and/or respond to lawsuits or complaints filed by outside agencies; Attend mediations, arbitrations and other court proceedings as needed
    • Develop and maintain HR metrics
  • Ensure proper channels of communication exist between the retail support staff and the corporate office


  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in: Human Resources Management, Developing Standards, Management Proficiency, Managing Profitability, Promoting Process Improvement, Building Relationships, Organizational Astuteness, and Learning and Development
  • Must have strong business acumen, financial acumen, and creativity
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations governing employment (EEO, wage and hour, employee benefit, leave)
  • Ability to conduct investigations, train and develop staff; and maintain documentation in an organized manner
  • Ability to provide and receive critical feedback for growth of associates and self
  • High level of integrity and the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize challenging demands and manage time effectively
  • Prompt in responding to issues
  • Knowledge of human resources systems, internet sourcing, ATS, and payroll systems (i.e., Workday, iCIMS)
  • Must have strong communications and operating instincts, good strategic skills, sound business judgment and the ability to achieve regional goals by leveraging HR expertise
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelors in HR, Business or related field and/or equivalent to PHR/SPHR certification
  • PHR/SPHR certification (preferred)
  • 7+ years HR Generalist experience in a multi-site environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years retail industry experiencepreferred
  • Training & development and/or organizational development experiencerequired
