The Data Architect will develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data and data products and become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the quality and interrelationship between core elements of the data repository and data products.
The Data Architect will consult with in formation technology, data analytics, product creation and development staff to design and implement scripts, programs, databases, software components and analyses that will support product quality and an in depth understanding of potential uses of the data.
The Data Architect has business responsibility for determining the information the enterprise will capture, retain and exploit.
This individual will possess a combination of business knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to define and guide data strategy.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, IndustrialEngineering. Advanced degree in Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science or related fields is a plus.
Experience: 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations. Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders. Working experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture best practices frameworks and standards, for example, TOGAF. Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting. Proven leadership ability. Expert level background in three or more of the following; SQL, VB.Net, Asp.Net, XML, HTML, HL7, PACS, application servers/ portal servers, clinical monitoring systems, drug distribution systems, biomedical devices, active directory, storage area networks, enterprise data networks, identity and access management, telecommunications, firewall security controls, application or service line monitoring, client field services, public key infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure, enterprise mobilenetworks, packet capture/decode, and encryption.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia Driver's License and dependable transportation. ITAC, MCAP (Microsoft Certified Architect)
Other Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge of hospitals and health care industry required. Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to present technical findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
