The Sr. Technical Development Manager will oversee a portfolio of Product, Customer Fulfillment and IT Operations projects.  The Sr. Technical Development Manager is a key functional and technical role supporting business growth by developing new cutting edge solutions for customers while maintaining high standards of quality in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum development environment that has a tremendous impact on the success of the company. 

The Sr. Technical Development Manager will provide project and technical oversight and support for the implementation and tracking of cross-functional strategic business initiatives and process improvement initiatives.  This role will be responsible for managing customer relationships and ensuring success of the customer projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Sr. Technical Development Manager:

  • Maintaining key relationships with our core customers on projects
  • Execution of multiple customer or product projects
  • Working with both onshore and offshore teams for high quality deliverables 
  • Working with leads to develop high level architecture and solution design
  • Identifying new technologies and methodologies to improve quality of deliverables and also ensure maximum efficiency
  • Monitoring projects' performance and providing performance metrics to leadership team
  • Ensuring that projects are managed within finances and capacity planning of development resources
  • Designing plans, managing risk, establishing audit process, and ensuring program execution is on time and within budget
  • Identifying client requirements and issues by interviewing customers, analyzing operations, determining project scope, developing technical specifications for the development teams, documenting and verifying results
  • Working along with the development organization, responsible for Sprint and Release planning to commit and deliver
  • Owning requirements across the SDLC
  • Active role in customer security and process audits
  • Preparing customers to use system by conducting trainings
  • Ensuring that operational and support teams have documentation for new products or enhancements
  • Ensuring team provides customers with ongoing support for applications
  • Identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining a high performance team of professionals
  • Motivating and mentoring team members to achieve their highest potential

Required Skills of the Sr. Technical Development Manager:

  • 7+ years' experience working as a development manager leading teams of 10 or above
  • Experience in architecture, design and development of high capacity/high performance applications
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development
  • Experience in Java/J2EE with knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring or Struts)
  • Experience in development using ORM (iBatis or Hibernate)
  • Experience with Oracle or SQL Server
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with Soap/REST Services
  • Customer facing project management and team leadership experience
  • Experience creating and making presentations using PowerPoint to external customers

Desired Skills of the Sr. Technical Development Manager:

  • Knowledge of Credit, Mortgage, Utility, Marketing, Fraud, Collections or Financial Services products
  • Experience leading analytical resources on projects and providing expertise in business development processes
  • Experience managing and developing customer fulfillment projects
  • Experience with Jira, Rally and Version One
  • Experience with SaaS based architectures


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT or Engineeringrequired. MBA or MS in Computer Science or Engineeringpreferred
