IL - RN Behavioral Health
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Utilizing the Nursing Process, coordinates and implements care of patients on the mental health units of the hospital under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Lead Nurse. Performs work of considerable difficulty, according to the scope and standards of psychiatric-mental health nursing. Represents nursing within our medical center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TRAINING ; EXPERIENCE: Must be a graduate of accredited School of Nursing. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES; SKILLS: The following is required: Knowledge of the nursing care required for patients throughout the age continuum; Ability to use the nursing process; Knowledge of teaching/learning theories; Ability to critically think, problem solve; plan, organize, and coordinate patient care activities; Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois. Must maintain current CPR Certification. CPIM certification scheduled within 6 months of employment and maintained annually thereafter.
