Job Description     


The Project Engineer leads and manages projects within the specified time, budget and quality framework to the satisfaction of the customer product requirements, ensuring economic success for the company and profitability of the product until EOP.

Core Responsibilities
Implementation and support of product changes, as small projects, for such activities as Model Year Revisions, PPV/DTC Activities and related Quality & Process Improvements for the Recreation products (Fuel Delivery Modules, Oil Pumps and Fuel Rail Assemblies in Newport News) using project management procedures and tools.

Project definition and planning
▪ Define project goals (financial, scheduling and quality goals)
▪ Identifying project core team functions
▪ Ensure project organization (meeting structure, information/ knowledge exchange, documentation, archiving)
▪ Setup and execute project plan in accordance to valid PM processes (phases, deliverables, milestones/ Q-Gates, etc.)

Steer execution and control project
▪ Track the project progress and report deviations from the plan
▪ Report the project status in accordance with the valid tool and process set
▪ Execute professional change management internally and with the customer
▪ Escalate issues if necessary

Representation of project at customer, internally and at suppliers
▪ Representation of project in customer meetings
▪ Representation of project-interests in supplier meetings
▪ Protect confidentiality of project data
▪ Help build up a supportive culture of cooperation and teamwork with the project

Job Requirements     

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering
* At least 5 years experience in the automotive, ATV/Marine or consumer electronics industry in a Project Management, Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer or Validation Engineer or similar role
* 3 plus years experience working on engine systems or powertrain applications
* Has led or championed cross-functional teams with or without direct reporting

Preferred Qualifications
* 5 plus years experience working on engine systems or powertrain applications
* Certification of achievement in a professional field (PMP, Lean, others)
