We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer - Power Electronics Lead. This position is located in Kokomo, IN.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Automotive Power Stage Electronics

  • Semiconductor power switches and cooling

  • Inverter power propulsion systems

  • Gage Drive circuitry

  • DCDC Converter Power Stages

  • Advanced Development of critical power stage components

  • Interface with global power semiconductor suppliers to develop solutions (IGBTs, FETs, Diodes, SiC devices, GaN devices)

  • Support custom high performance package design

  • Characterization, Testing, and modeling of key components and subassemblies

  • Support designs of current production programs

  • Create product verification test plans

  • Run validation testing on custom power packages

  • Create engineering drawings for power packages

  • Support quality and yield performance in manufacturing facility

  • Assist in production problem solving

  • Guide Failure Analysis activities

  • Develop and build custom lab test and characterization benches

 Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in ElectricalEngineering with a minimum of 3.0 GPA

  • 6+ months of courses taken in semiconductor design or analog IC design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSEE

  • 5-10 years of power semiconductor and/or power stage experience

  • Previous automotive electronics experience

  • Previous manufacturing support experience

  • Background in power semiconductors and devices

  • Experience using power semiconductor devices for motor drive and converter applications

  • Experience with electronics lab equipment and testing

  • Ability to perform worst case analysis and simulations

  • Labview and Matlab programming skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
