Serves as a dedicated Caché Systems Administrator. Responsible for creating and maintaining Caché configuration, synchronization and maintenance of all application environments (test, train, production, etc.) for Epic applications. Provides technical escalation point to IS Support Services Team. Serves as backup to the AIX administrator.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or combined formal education and 4-6 years relevant experience and a minimum of 3-5 years extensive experience with AIX, Windows, or other enterprise OS. Caché experience desirable but will be provided through extensive training. Must also possess:
Proficiency in AIX, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, and Network Technologies
Ability to adapt to new and different database environments
Sound hardware and software troubleshooting skills
Experience with mission-critical system concepts such as high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery
Knowledge of various storage and backup strategies
Broad knowledge of overall IS infrastructure
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members
Caché, IBM, or similar industry certification(s) preferred
Must be willing to obtain certification in Health IT Workforce Training (HIT) program within 6 months of obtaining position
Must be willing to obtain certification in EHR training specific to Lexington Medical Center
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Resolves support issues with Caché, AIX and Windows.
2. Perform server software installations and upgrades, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot system environments, maintain appropriate version control, administration of scripts for file manipulation and programming access to multiple environments; synchronization of data and programs across environments; perform or assist in programming, interfacing and data conversion activities. This position works closely with application analysts, system administrators, and Chronicles programmers to complete assigned tasks.
3. Uses environment specific utilities to monitor and manage environments, capacity planning, and performing application upgrades, and executing database recovery procedures when necessary.
4. Works with Vendor Technical Support and appropriate LMC team members on upgrades, hotfixes, service pack installations, etc.
5. Ensures backups are completed on a nightly basis.
6. Documents, creates processes and ensures that maintenance tasks run successfully.
7. Ensures that operating systems are performing optimally and meeting uptime goals.
8. Performs qualifications and testing of database software and maintenance releases.
9. Supports database replication requirements.
10. Maintains printing environments required for end users.
11. Serves as backup to the AIX administrator.
12. Participates in routine downtime activities and other after hours and weekend work as needed
13. Works with LMC IS, Application vendors, and end-users to define needs and make technology assessments.
14. Communicate/document system changes using change management.
15. Utilizes call logging system to capture details of every support request.
16. Periodically attends continuing education courses keeping abreast of IT developments.
