Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Business Insight Analyst, Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL), the Senior Business Insight Analyst, will work directly with the RESL team to develop and implement best-in-class analytical solutions and help make analytics a competitive advantage for TD.

The individual will be considered a business analytics subject matter expert for RESL and will work in close consultation with RESL leaders along with data and analytics teams across PersonalBanking. We are looking for a self-motivated individual whowant to work in a fast paced and high impact business team

Job Description

  • Work with product managers and data analysts on RESL analytics initiatives

  • Serve as an authority on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery

  • Develop or deploy analytic solutions to support insight generation that align to strategy and drives shareholder value

  • Build understanding of big data capabilities within Personal Banking – leveraging enterprise Centre of Excellence and determine how to apply to Personal Banking

  • Utilize new frameworks and methodologies in analytics and apply to business problems

  • Lead contributor on large analytics projects to identify opportunities to further optimize our current product suite through self-initiated insights

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer data and help identify new product opportunities

  • Build strong relationships with product partners and other key internal partners (Data Governance & Reporting, Customer Strategy, etc.)

  • Perform best in class analytics within personal banking product and understand and utilize best practices

  • Contribute on the presentation of insights back to product leaders / business partners to drive strategic improvement

  • Understand data capabilities across the organization to build and deliver on business analytics and insights

  • Build recommendations from complex data and methodologies

  • Identify new data and tools for testing

  • Educate business partners on how to interpret the data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward

  • Perform analysis, translating data into insights and answering key business questions (hypotheses, testing, data gathering, analysis, story building and communication to stakeholders)

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Analytical thinker with record of delivering business impact and results through developing and executing on innovative analytics solutions

  • Ability to perform and use predictive analytics to develop detailed business cases and explain business value of projects

  • Focus on data driven customer segmentation and providing sensitivity analysis through model or data simulations.

  • Knowledge of business statistics, regression and customer level modeling

  • Business and Product Knowledge & ability to provide meaningful insights for sound decision making

  • Technical understanding to challenge business cases and analysis

  • Test and learn advocate

  • Strong Problem solving skills, with a history of using data to understand what and why things are happening.

  • Flexibility to adapt and manage within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Passion for analytics and a customer-driven mindset

  • Strong business acumen and rigorous problem solving skills

  • Aspirations to build in-depth industry knowledge, including current big data trends and challenges globally

  • Strong analytic skills, including statistical and segmentation analysis; data analysis and insight development

  • Ability to impact and influence the business to change within own product line

Experience/ Qualifications

Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

  • Advanced university degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or other analytically based discipline, preferably at a Masters degree or above

Other Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data science and/or consulting, ideally in an influencing or advisory capacity

  • Working knowledge of general banking / consumer finance products, policies and operations.

  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities

  • History of delivering business impact and results through developing and executing on strategies over both short term and longer term

  • Strong knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, and MS Office applications such as Access, Excel and Power Point
