Perioperative Services Business Manager
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALSThe primary purpose of this position is to function as the Surgical Services Business Manager. Essential functions include: budget, materials management, resource management and leadership. Position assists and maintains the Operational, Strategic and Capital Budget. Performs monthly variance reporting and assures variances are addressed and rectified. Reports monthly man-hours per case. Identifies profit/loss service line and procedural analysis. Performs cost benefit analysis on new technology requests working closely with Finance pre & post purchase to assure return on investment. Pursues and implement cost-saving initiatives both system and Hospital. This position develops, maintains, updates and publishes monthly dashboards containing agreed-to metrics. Monitors staff productivity and recommends optimization and provides ongoing education to the Surgical Services Team regarding budgeting skills, operational budget management and variance avoidance. The position is also responsible for maintenance of Departmental files/records, assuring inventory is maintained appropriately and develops/enhances Surgical Services inventory systems in collaboration with Supply Chain. Assures a yearly inventory occurs or more often as needed and provides data to support inventory levels, with the goal of inventory reduction. Monitors implant inventories and develops cost management plan. Responsible for assuring proper pricing and billing are implemented and maintained. Performs procedure profiles and aligns average cost per case. Assures that cost updates are occurring across department lines. Serves as link to billing to monitor in-patient only procedures compliance and LMRPs. Position is a liaison for Surgical Services information systems and its applications and for IT system and Surgery Scheduling system. Champions automated interface solutions. Monitors surgery schedule and assesses productivity, block time, utilization and issues and develops improvement plan with Director. The manager provides data to Director and Surgical Operations Committee on profitable service lines and enhancement thereof. Plans, develops, and assists implementing new Surgical Service programs and services, completes financial analysis. Assists in planning for new technology procurements; collects data through external databases, does competitive analysis and projects volumes and fiscal impact. Works with Business/Finance Developments on target product line initiatives.
Minimum Level Qualifications: BA, MBA, MHA 3 - 5 years leadership experience with surgical services experiencepreferred.
