 Position Overview:

As a Senior Financial Analyst in TELUS Health and Payment Solutions (THPS) your primary role will be to support a business unit spanning across Canada.

Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the Director of Finance and business unit primes you have a strong sense of leadership, presentation skills and a strong background in accounting and Finance.


  • Support the annual budget process
  • Support the monthly and bi-weekly opex and capital forecasting process
  • Ensure accuracy in financial results including coding of capital and operating expenses
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Support all Capex reporting within THPS and to TELUS corporate Capex team
  • Supporting the capital project prioritization and project budget allocation to meet organization-wide business requirements
  • Lead monthly Capex and Opex reviews for Technology team with meaningful information and analysis, including opportunities to ensure profitability through strong financial analysis and understanding of the business
  • Partner with Accounting Policy team to determine capitalization eligibility of software development projects
  • Train with THPS Finance System Administrator to be a secondary expert in THPS Finance Systems (SAP and Hyperion Pillar)
  • Prime any Finance Process Improvements including but not limited to priming the Special short term project related to THPS Finance Systems
  • Support business case preparation and presentation for approval on an as needed basis
  • Other special projects and ad-hoc requests as required


 Required Knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of standard accounting practices and professional ethics
  • High level of proficiency with excel
  • Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion pillar would be asset

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • University degree
  • Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA - CA, CMA, CGA)

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of pertinent work experience in a similar role
