  • Meet with business users / customers for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan. Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations
  • Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data
  • Review the analysis and interpretation of others work
  • Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
  • Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector
  • Ability to work with end users / customers to understand the reporting requirements
  • Analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse reporting requirements
  • Ability to understand performance considerations of reporting requirements - able to debug and correct report performance issues
  • Review and validate the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of the Agency’s business rules
  • Develop or acquire test data and initiate tests to determine the accuracy of reporting logic to produce desired results
  • Working with the DBAs and Data Modelers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer
  • Work with Developers and DBA to create and maintain design standards

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years IT business analysis experience (including gathering and writing requirements)
  • 2+ years data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare experience
  • Experience developing SQL queries
  • Experience working with large databases
