SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer FLSA Status: Exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Develops analyses and reports to improve operational and financial effectiveness of the firm. Extracts data from various accounting and information systems, perform financial, cost accounting and pricing analysis, interpret the same for financial performance. Supports the drive to automation of data compilation and reporting. Recommends system enhancements that provide improved information and efficiency of use. Supports project management and RFP development. Develops and uses financialreports that drive improved management decision making, strategy and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
¨ Creating new analyses and innovate new processes that drive the firm toward continuous process improvement; Work withother teams on projects that drive the same innovation;
¨ Help drive more effective use of accounting and reporting system through automation.
¨ Support profitability tool development and automation of process.
¨ Supporting legal project management including matter budgeting and reporting.
¨ Supporting RFP development, matter pricing and alternative fee arrangements and analyses.
¨ Supportbudget cycle including managing others to complete their respective portions timely and accurately. Compile budget totals and related comparisons for management; Drive improved automation and reporting.
¨ Support research and highlight areas of financial variance;
¨ Actively engage in monthly and annual close reporting cycle to provide timely and accurate financial data to management. Help to automate same.
¨ Develop presentations that drive decision makers to improve firm performance.
¨ Support various survey data compilations;
¨ Flexibility in daily work schedule is required;
¨ Adheres to departmental/Firm goals and policies; and
¨ Other duties as assigned.
¨ Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or information systems; An MBA a plus
¨ Five years of experience providing financial analysis in a service industry firm;
¨ Strong knowledge of accounting systems, budgeting systems and GL accounting; Law firm accounting systems a plus. Use of SQL a big plus.
¨ Advance Excel and intermediate otherMS Office applications abilities.
Technical: Accounting systems, auditing financialreports; calculating numerical data computer/technical literacy; performing numeric analysis.
