Responsibilities:
The Internal Medicine (IM) Clinical Pharmacist will play an integral role in the monitoring and management of Internal Medicine patients.  The individual will serve as a key member of the Internal Medicine Service, providing clinical support and teaching to physicians and other health care providers.  The IM Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for education and mentorship to clinical staff pharmacists, PGY1 residents, and pharmacy students.  Other responsibilities include participation and leadership in pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives as well as policy and/or guideline development and formulary management.The IM Clinical Pharmacist will provide delivery of pharmaceutical care, daily monitoring of Internal  Medicine Service patients, documentation of interventions, drug information, quality assurance review of drug utilization throughout the hospital for various medical staff committees and the department.Pharmacy Services InformationTechnology • Pyxis® Automated Drug Distribution for both Ambulatory and Acute Care areas• Epic® software for Electronic Health Records and computer physician order management (CPOM)• Talyst® system for Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) with carousels• PC Tablets and Mobile workstation on wheels (WOWs)Professional Development • Clinical Research• Pharmacist Professional Development Programs: Career Progression, Friday Seminars, Journal Clubs and Case Presentations, BCPS Exam Fee Assistance, ACPE accredited Continuing Pharmacy Education Opportunities

Qualifications:
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.)• Successful completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or 2years of workexperience.• Valid State of California Pharmacist license• Current BLS and ACLS certificationPREFERRED:• Certification from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties• Previous experience as a clinical pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting with involvement in formulary development, medication use evaluation, and quality assurance activities
