The PAIT Quoting Direct Quality Assurance Service Management (QASM) Team is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer and leader to join our team. In this job, you will play a critical role in helping to set and advance Quoting’s test automation strategy, and our ability to work with the new Unified Quoting architecture. This requires that you have experience working with API architectures and automating tests with those architectures. You will be responsible for solving complex testing problems by using existing tools, or creating value added new tools, automating test cases and optimizing regression test suites. You will be assisting the team with driving quality-centric practices into our software development processes. Additionally you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with project teams to guide their use of Quoting’s test automation assets and consult on the production and use of new test automation.


Some Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with project testers, developers, and engineers to ensure proper adoption and improvement of Quoting’s test automation framework

• Collaborate and communicate with project stakeholders (Solutions Architects, Project Managers and Service Managers) to address risks by using data, experience and logical methods

• Design and construct complex software systems (e.g. test automation fixtures, responders) that assist testers with testing activities

• Provide guidance for testing systems or system components using manual, black box and white box testing methods

• Assist others in constructing, maintaining, and supporting test harnesses, test data generators and analysis tools

• Browser and device testing

• Maintain lab servers

• Analysis and metric collection



• Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering) and 6 years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications

• In lieu of degree, 8 years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted

• Experience must include planning, analyzing and executing testing of multiple applications with significant size, scope and complexity (e.g Sales, Servicing, Billing Applications)

• In-depth knowledge of: Computer coding/programming languages and software development concepts in a large IT environment, Data structures, data management practices, system interaction patterns and interfaces, Various corporate security rules, legal and regulatory obligations such as PCI, SOX or similar standards, Vendor software integration and interaction patterns, Common testing methods, testing tools (e.g., ALM), terminology and industry practices

• Ability to align local goals and direction with IT vision, strategy and priorities

• Advanced analytical, technical troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving skills

• Negotiation skills and ability to influence others by educating and sharing information

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve goals and accomplish work

• Coaching skills and ability to assist others in learning new technical and professional capabilities

• Excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences

• Presentation skills and ability to present information in various ways to meet audience needs

• Uses a variety of techniques to demonstrate product expectations and prevent production problems

• Stays current on emerging design patterns, software development concepts and industry best practices


Preferred skills and experiences include:

• History of leadership experience in technically complex and fast-paced environments.

• Experience testing APIs and Web services

• Strong knowledge of Development and QA process, methodology and tools.

• Highly proficient in white- and black-box test planning and software testing; including functional, unit, system, integration, regression, and all other applicable forms of manual and automated testing

• Proven experience working with business and developers in handling multiple priorities

• Understanding of test design techniques.

• Experience using Selenium WebDriver, FitNesse, and MSTest

• Proficient in .NET/C#

• Experience with MS tools such as VS 2013/2015, TFS, and SQL Server

• Experience with Quoting Applications

• Familiar with MVC and Angular frameworks
