DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Account Manager is a sales position. The Account Manager works together with the application engineer to provide the necessary service to OEM Automotive and Heavy-Duty customers. The business situation and individual skills may dictate the method of meeting these responsibilities, but the end result will always be superior customer service and the advancement of the business.
The Account Manager is primarily responsible for the business development, commercial management of assigned accounts, providing the Voice of the Customer, forecasting and revenue planning, and overall customer management. This work includes, but is not limited to: receiving and responding to Requests for Quote (RFQ’s), managing quotations internally, understanding and working within the Federal Mogul Gate process, and maintaining pertinent information in F-M databases.
The Account Manger is responsible for actively participating in the appropriate business unit meetings. As a member of these teams, he/she is challenged to manage the current business situation as well as setting the future direction of the business.
Ability to manage and direct and coordinate multiple customer accounts and/or projects concurrently.
Assist/direct the education and training of less experienced Account Managers as required.
Able to generate salesinternal Price Walk documents and Customer Strategy without oversight.Knows and communicates customer strategy – including customer brake system plans, friction plans, vehicle platform plans (volumes, manufacturing plants, brake systems information, etc), without oversight.
Initiate cost requests within F-M system, and follow through to approval by senior management without oversight.
Able to develop competitor landscape (SWOT) and competitor value stream documents without oversight.
Ability to lead large and complex quotations, which may include global coordination without oversight.
Work closely with the sales application engineering team to develop and lead implementation of specific customer account strategies.
Ability to be self directed.Able and comfortable in presenting plans, strategy, and status type information to senior management as required with minimal oversight.
Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Sales. Degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years but prefers 5-8years of relevant work experience
Travel by car and air is required in this position. Qualified candidate must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
