Responsible for team of technicians that rotates weekly between days and evenings.

Responsible for day to day tactical operations including reviewing, scheduling, and prioritizing incoming extrusion, injection molding and testing requests. Includes assigning work and communicating with other leads.

Responsible for initiating discussions with product developers and other test requestors when further clarification is needed before completing requests or to fully communicate results.

Will perform extrusion, injection molding, mechanical, physical, thermal, rheological, and flame testing as necessary to support technology, manufacturing, and customer issue requests.

Will perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance and calibrations on instruments/equipment in molding and testing labs.

Will use various software systems related to quality management and laboratory information management.

Will assist in the identification and implementation of projects to improve lab efficiency and/or install new equipment. Work closely with vendors to develop scope and drive projects for new equipment installations.

Responsible for completing and delivering performance appraisals to shift technicians, this includes the coaching and mentoring of these technicians.

Responsible for working closely with maintenance team, submitting maintenance requests when necessary, to assure regular availability of all necessary equipment.

Will provide coverage as necessary for maintenance specialist. This will include being trained in certain areas such as: filling out permits, performing Lock Out Tag Out, and using maintenance specific computer software systems.

Will fully participate in lab safety and housekeeping duties.
Requirements     Must have 5 years leadership experience along with demonstrated leadership ability.
Must have successfully completed the following university level coursework (or equivalent): Chemistry I & II, Algebra.
Proficiency with MS Word/Excel
Familiarity with injection molding and with laboratory instrumental techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interface.
Attention to detail and organized approach to work
Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
