Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Candidate will be responsible for development and integration of cutting-edge software and hardware modifications to A-10 systems and integration of new vendor systems in support of Operational and Developmental Test events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center. The successful candidate will accomplish systems integration engineering milestones and associated documentation in support of each prospective modification program, along with providing data to assist the government with the following systems engineering milestones: SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and engineering audits such as FCA and PCA, respective to the needs of each program. The candidate will create draft acquisition and/or integration strategies for government use on each modification program in support of SPO requirements, and also provide data to assist the government with defining technical requirements based on end-user strategic/tactical requirements. Additionally, the candidate will support government finalization and briefings of the acquisition documentation through the government review and approval process. In addition to system integration and acquisition duties, the candidate will research new technologies, plan and conduct test events, monitor/manage/champion programs, and advise government personnel on changes and new developments in A-10 systems, sensors, and weapons technology. Candidate will work directly with AATC A-10 combined test force (CTF) director, A-10 system program office, higher headquarters staff, and subsystem vendors to formulate and implement cutting-edge system improvements to continue to keep the A-10 the world’s most formidable close air support aircraft. Candidate will schedule, coordinate and execute support for a wide range of A-10 developmental and operational test events. Candidate will also be responsible for programmatic implementation of required software and hardware architecture, along with the efforts of the SPO. The successful candidate will provide expertise in the following areas: systems integration; acquisition/JCIDS processes, procedures, and documentation; A-10 systems and tactical subject matter expert; operational and developmental test planning & execution; test plan formulation; concept of operations (CONOPs) development; integration and refinement of existing/emerging weapons. Candidate will operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew. Candidate must have a can-do attitude and an open mind to develop new visions for A-10 systems integration, avionics, and tactical applications.
 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Candidate should have at least 5years’ experience in USAF/DoD acquisitions and/or SPO operations, 5years operational and/or operational test experience in the A-10 as an operator and/or FTE; strong background in A-10 systems, some background in tactical employment, and development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs); strong desire to learn new systems and propose new ideas for aircraft subsystems design. The candidate must have a strong ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills. The successful candidate should have good analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment. The candidate must have strong verbal and written communications skills; a background in special access programs is required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

 

Desired Skills:

Graduate of USAF Weapons School and/or Test Pilot School, extensive experience in operational/developmental test procedures, some experience in aircraft data bus architecture, experience with data analysis tools.

 

Education Requirements:

  • B.S. degree is required, preferrably in technical discipline is required, preferably in aeronautical engineering, electricalengineering, or computer science. 
  • Masters degree in a technical discipline is desired.

   Capable of gaining a Top Secret Security Clearance
