The Director HR Business Partner position reports to the HCS Executive Director – HR Services and serves in a leadership role, supporting various client groups or, in some cases, an entire entity or multiple entities. The Director HR Business Partner collaborates with senior executives and other leaders in the client organization to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives designed to enhance organizational effectiveness. This position interacts with senior executives, other leaders and HR Business Partners to resolve complex employee relations issues, and manages HR risk and compliance across assigned entities. The Director HR Business Partner may have direct reports to support the needs of the client organization.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
1. HR Strategic Business Partner - As a strategic partner, the Director, HR Business Partner plays a key role in HR and business operations management. The Director, HR Business Partner leads the development of practical solutions that are responsive to the needs, responsibilities and objectives of assigned areas and consistent with the HR Strategy of the Health Care System. The Director, HR Business Partner is a business leader that facilitates the development and implementation of better people management and development practices, and shares responsibility for goals and deliverables. Serves as an expert consultant to management on human resources related issues while acting as an employee champion and change agent.
2. HR Business Partner Management – Leads Business Partners in the process of advising with investigations/grievance resolution, policy/procedures interpretation, Code of Conduct/Disruptive Behavior complaints, workplace violence complaints, harassment discrimination complaints, progressive discipline and terminations, work environment concerns, and performance management concerns. Ensures Business Partners provide detailed analysis of issues and guidance based on interpretation of established internal policies and applicable State and Federal laws. Ensures recommendations are provided by Business Partners and a course of action necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship that is consistent with the system’s practice, policies and procedures. Leads Business Partners to serve as a neutral party between manager and employee to assist with the resolution of issues. Partners with the HCS Executive Director or designated resources in the coordination of complex investigations, appropriate response to agency charges and any resulting litigation, and coordination of the grievance review process.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline


Professional Experience Requirements:


Ten (10) years of experience in Human Resources, with at least five (5) years experience as a HR Business Partner

Five (5) years experience in a management role.

Experience leading change and change management.
Experience managing/directing/leading HR professionals
