Job Description

The curriculumdeveloper helps ensure our general education communication and composition courses are of the highest quality by providing the most relevant, current knowledge in the industry. The curriculumdeveloper exhibits the highest level of expertise and knowledge in composition and communication.

 

The curriculumdeveloper supports all course- and program-level reviews and development projects for assigned courses. This position will work with development leadership, curriculum program managers, and additional development stakeholders to develop courses and programs according to strategic development priorities. Once a course is developed, the curriculumdeveloper is accountable for ongoing content support, including reviews and revisions as assigned. The curriculumdeveloper will interact with other stakeholders in the university to create and execute curricular enhancements.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews and creates multiple curricular projects at a time
  • Works with curriculum program managers to ensure course content is accurate and aligns to competencies
  • Reviews course feedback and provide recommendations for content improvements
  • Ensures all departments at WGU affected by development are highly satisfied
  • Communicates with stakeholders across different teams and departments
  • Provides quality service to internal stakeholders
  • Provides high-quality curriculum
  • Ensures developed curriculum meets or exceeds current student outcome metrics and improves the studentexperience
  • Provides creative and innovative solutions for delivering high-quality and relevant communication and composition courses to online students across a variety of degree programs

 

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of program area
  • Working knowledge of program performance metrics
  • Collaboration and ability to work across teams toward a unified goal

Required Experience

Basic Requirements

  • Master's degree in relevant field (composition, writing, communication, rhetoric, digital information, etc)
  • 3 years of experience teaching online higher education (digital information, rhetoric, research, writing, oral presentation, visual communication)
  • 3 years of experience developing online curriculum for general education, communication and composition (digital information, rhetoric, research, writing, oral presentation, visual communication)

PreferredQualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
