Responsibilities

Responsible for directing, planning and facilitating quality work for Human Resources department in the primary areas of Employment and Retention, Compensation and Benefits, Physician Services, Satellite Facilities, Operations, and Employee Health and Wellness. Collaborates with executives, management, staff, other hospital support personnel, vendors and contracted service providers to assess, plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate services and activities for areas of responsibility.

Accountable for effectively coordinating all employment activities, including providing human resource expertise in health care reform compliance, recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits and compensation, HR operations, FMLA, WC, and other employee health functions. Accountable for the smooth integration of physician practices.

Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies as needed appropriate reports, schedules, processes, and systems to meet the departments and organizations needs. Mentors and guides staff in their job and career growth. Works with the Executive over HR to design strategies for HR to provide value to the organization. Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with applicable legal guidelines and policies and procedures. Functions with limited supervision, utilizes independent and collaborative judgment in decision-making, and demonstrates leadership and problem solving skills. Accountability is monitored through direct observation, achievement of goals and customer feedback.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and twelve years of Human Resources experienceOR Master's degree and seven years of Human Resources experiencerequired, three of which have been in a management area. Degree must be in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area. Previous experience with employee relations, recruitment and retention, benefits and compensation, and HRIS systems. Healthcareexperience strongly preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification:

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CHHR certification strongly preferred. 

 

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state and other labor/employment law as well as organizational policy and procedure to ensure all activities of Human Resources are in compliance. Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of data to effectively change/drive HR metrics.

 

Demonstrated knowledge of recruiting, employment, compensation, benefits, health care reform, employee relations and otherHR concepts and knowledge and health care trends and the ability to apply new concepts and initiate change.

 

Demonstrated knowledge of principles of customer service and customer satisfaction.

 

Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Proficiency in multiple software applications including word processing and electronic spreadsheet and graphics utilities. Knowledge in spreadsheet design, formula application and database administration. Basic understanding of HRIS systems, especially applicant management systems, preferred.

 

Demonstrated skills in multiple problem-solving models and data analysis.

 

Demonstrated track record of working with service/customer service tracking systems.

 

Demonstrated ability to think critically, prioritizes multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and accomplish detailed work with accuracy and clarity.

 

Demonstrated sound managerial judgment, initiative, and enthusiasm.

Demonstrated ability to work under stress and deal effectively with others working under stress.
