We are seeking an experienced Marketing Content Strategist - Email Communications with experience in driving demand, particularly in direct marketing, purchasing lists, targeted email programs, SEO/SEM, optimizing web traffic, micro-conversion analytics and reporting in a clear and meaningful way on a variety of marketing funnel activities. You will work closely with internal marketing team members and with external agencies to lead advanced retention/email programs. This customer-facing role will be hands-on in developing email logic, analyzing performance metrics, monitoring deliverability, and will be responsible for managing expectations with potential customers as well as internal teams.
In this role, you’ll be working with our marketing communications team to achieve these outcomes:

  1. Ensuring the highest possible volume of new leads
  2. Optimizing conversion rates for all outbound email communication methods
  3. Driving web traffic (paid and organic)
  4. Coordinating creative for all campaigns
  5. Analyzing, reporting, and creating clear visibility into all programs

Job Requirements/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage list vendors and budget
  • Developing top-of-funnel methods for driving organic, referral, and paid traffic
  • Analyzing and optimizing conversion rates using all available methods, including A/B testing
  • Manage an advanced email strategy; developing and/or managing strategic email initiatives
  • Collaborate with creative team and copywriters to develop and manage various email campaigns including template design, call-to-actions and subject lines
  • High-level understanding of industry best practices and trends for increasing email deliverability, open and click-through rates
  • Provide tactical planning solutions for future workflows and strategy based on results (delivered, opens, clicks, site visits, and event registrations)
  • Coordinating all creative support for campaigns
  • Plan, coordinate, and clearly communicate all deliverables related to this effort
  • Regularly track all plans and report on progress to key stakeholders
  • Identify gaps where progress could be accelerated, and help develop plans to further succeed


  • Demonstrates creative and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business analytics, relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Exercises a high degree of tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas to summarize complex issues
  • Proficient in the use of various MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook


  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications, journalism, marketing or business related field. An MBA or master’s degree in a related area a plus
  • Extensive experience with email broadcast solutions, Hubspot (or related marketing automation platform), Salesforce.comrequired
  • 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Extensive experience with business related computer skills including knowledge with PowerPoint, Excel and Word required
