Job Summary

As a Senior Software Developer you will develop and design new or update existing desktop client applications and services using the latest technologies and methodologies. Working in a .NET framework, you will assess and recommend the best technical approach (language and software tools) to be used for development projects. Every year, more than one million patients trust Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) to provide important answers to their healthcare questions. As one of the nation's largest providers of diagnostic imaging services, our care and expertise is delivered through outpatient centers and mobile imaging services in hundreds of communities by local teams of top radiologists, technologists and care providers. In your role as a Senior Software Developer you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, supporting, and upgrading systems and applications so that we continue to provide high quality medical care to patients.

 (55%) Systems Development 

  • Provides expertise on architecture and overall direction of company platforms, policies and procedures to manage applications and content ofapplications
  • Develops and implements strategies and solutions to business problems by partnering with business users and customers to assess needs and identify projects which will improve efficiencies, productivity, quality and profitability as well as improving the patient experience
  • Assesses and recommends the best technical approach (language and software tools) to be used for development projects
  • Works with business partners to establish detailed plans and projectcompletion targets
  • Interfaces with other IT and business functions in the organization tocoordinate activities and report progress towards goals and objectives
  • Adheres to change management processes to resolve application defects or to implement development enhancements or deployments.
  • Reviews and proposes new technologies and standards for software development
  • Works to address and resolve technical issues
  • Collaborates with system owners, business users and the quality assurance team in the testing of new software programs and applications

  (30%) Application System Maintenance

  • Troubleshoots existing applications and systems
  • Manages the implementation of remedial repairs, corrections and extensions to applications developed internally
  • Monitors the use of applications to improve design and analyze existing effectiveness and efficiency, and then drives the development ofstrategies for improving or leveraging these systems to provide additional value
  • Responsible for upgrade strategies with application software releases

  (10%) Department Leadership

  • Estimates effort and develops project schedules and for development projects, maintenance, and support
  • Provides technical leadership to other developers and consultants
  • Reviews software under consideration for purchase and gives advice based on findings

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent job experience
  • 5+ years of application development experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET), MS Visual Studio and Windows desktop development
  • Solid foundation of working with relational databases and developing data driven applications (SQL)
  • Practical experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrated track record of initiative, teamwork, and the ability to stay focused on results.
