Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center/University of Miami Health System is seeking a talented and self-driven Hem/Onc Clinical Pharmacist to join our oncology clinical research team. This new Hem/Onc clinical pharmacist position is created to accommodate the rapidly growing oncology trial program and to provide better care for research patients receiving investigational therapies. He/she provides comprehensive direct patient care services, collaborates and executes clinical drug researches including phase I trials. The responsibilities are to be accomplished in compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations, JCAHO standards and Hospital rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
Functions as a key therapeutic consultant and liaison among investigators, study team, nursing and Research Pharmacy in directing and interpreting the appropriate use of investigational products. Assists in the design and implementation of drug trials. Assists investigators in prescribing investigational products. Educates all relevant research staff on investigational agents included research protocols. Actively participates in clinical and research performance improvement programs. Responsible areas include protocol review, orderset approval, adverse drug reactions, disease state management, pharmacokinetics and lab result interpretations, drug-drug & drug-food interactions, contraindications, inappropriate therapeutic regimens, rational design of chemo regimens, and EMR implementation.
Qualifications: PharmD required. Eligible to receive a license to practice pharmacy in the State of Florida by the Florida State Board of Pharmacy. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program. BCOP certification preferred. Three years clinical pharmacy experience, preferably in Oncology. Experience in drug trials is highly recommended. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certification(s) and/or work experience may be considered.
