Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Real Estate Appraiser for immediate employment in the Orlando, FL office. Otherlocations may be considered. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Real Estate Appraisal for the purpose of eminent domain acquisitions.  AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a Right of Way Appraiser preparing appraisals, appraisal reviews, cost estimates and other appraisal related duties for various Florida DOT districts and clients as needed
  • Coordinate with right-of-way administrators and personnel
  • Prepare appraisals, review statements, and cost estimates using Microsoft Office software, property appraiser's websites, and various online research programs
  • Participate in meetings with right-of-way staff to facilitate the development of appraisals, reviews, and cost estimates
  • Participate in meetings with right-of-way staff to provide design support consultation at various stages of project development
  • Collect and maintain accurate records
  • Evaluate and analyze data necessary to complete work products
  • Coordinate with other AECOM staff in scheduling of assignments and achieving due dates
  • Deliver electronically and/or hard copies of work products to the Client at or before defined due dates
  • Be prepared to testify at Order of Taking hearings and trials as necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • BachelorDegree or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of appraisal industry experience
  • State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the State of Florida
  • Knowledge of and experience preparing appraisals using the Florida Department ofTransportation Supplemental Standards of Appraisal
  • Ability to manage diverse assignments simultaneously and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently when necessary, meet project deadlines, work as a team player and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a high production environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Real Estate or a related field
  • Professional Appraisal designation, MAI
  • Previous experience preparing appraisals for use in condemnation proceedings
  • Experience or ability to testify in court proceedings
  • Knowledge of the Central Florida Real Estate market
