Description:

The Director/VP of Business Management, Direct Sales & Service, will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of the channel’s strategic plan and transition to the advice business. 

This role will collaborate with the SVP, Direct Sales & Service, and lead a team focused on implementing strategic initiatives, identifying workflow improvements, recommending technology and tools enhancements, and act as liaisons to internal business partners to further educate and grow the business. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the SVP, DirectSales& Service to develop:
    • Strategic vision of the new advice business and outline appropriate communication strategies
    • Business plans for new initiatives
    • Relevant performance metrics to drive accountability within the business and track progress against the defined strategic goals
  • Provide execution leadership for Direct Sales & Service’s strategic initiatives throughout the firm
  • Partner with Operations to research, and resolve operational issues and needs associated with a growing advice business
  • Partner with Legal /Compliance to reduce risks for the firm’s advice business; act as point person to management and internal business partners related to applicable rules and regulations
  • Lead efforts within Direct Sales & Service to implement changes required to improve efficiencies or meet new operational and compliance requirements  
  • Assist with education and be point person for internal and external business partners related to a growing advice business, including service providers and vendors
  • Review current policies and procedures and update them to maximize efficiency and service
  • Develop, maintain and monitor workflows
  • Ability to coordinate operational processes and procedures
  • Partner with I/T to identify system enhancements to improve overall workflow and efficiencies; oversee implementation within Direct Sales & Service
  • Provide guidance and input on key policies and procedures
  • Assist with development of presentations and board materials
  • Collaborate with all areas of the firm to further a partnership culture

Requirements

  • Proven leadership skills with strong ability to motivate, delegate and achieve results both with and without having direct management authority
  • Experience working in a client service environment in the asset management or financial industry
  • Extensive knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and State Securities rules and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple internal and external business partners (Compliance, Digital, IT, Legal, Marketing, Operations)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work on assignments independently, using a high level of judgment and initiative in resolving problems and developing recommendations
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks at once
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT

Preferred

  • CFP, Series 7, 24, 65 or 66 licenses
  • Minimum 5 years’ advice experience
  • Experience with Registered Investment Advisory operations
  • Experience with industry related technology – Salesforce
