 The IT Business Analyst/ERP Programmer is responsible for participating in the planning, development, maintenance, and enhancement of the functional areas of application packages.  They are assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit and utilize various client/server platforms.  Individuals collaborate with company customers, staff, IT and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. This position designs, develops, tests and implements business application solutions using a variety of tools and technologies. 

  • Provide business analysis and process design capabilities across an array of functional areas within the enterprise in the analysis, and redesign of application package functions and processes
  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment and documentation of applications
  • Work closely with business customers to understand, define and document business requirements, functional requirements and design requirements
  • Work closely with process owners in the design phase to leverage technology to support business process improvements
  • Design, development and testing methods and techniques must meet corporate IT standards as well as industry best practices
  • Accurately estimate the design, development, testing and deployment of the application
  • Completes comprehensive unit and system testing of application, its components and interfaces
  • Support and maintain applications from a customer and technology perspective
  • Support other application developers on technical issues and assisting with their development efforts
  • Research and develop skills in new technologies
  • Successfully provide direction and oversight to contracted external development vendors
  • Provide technical and user application documentation
  • Provide user training as required



  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Business Administration.
  • At least two years of experience in RPG/iSeries programming
  • Knowledge of CL, XML and FTP, preferred.
  • Minimal knowledge of project management techniques and cross-functional experience
  • Experience with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures
  • Experience with software unit and integration testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express technical concepts in business terms
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Minimal project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks
