GHD has an opening for a Senior RCDD Telecommunications Technology Specialist in our Chantilly, VA office.
As a RCDD Sr. Technology Specialist, the duties and responsibilities will include; Consulting, Engineering and design of complex voice, data (LAN/WAN), wireless, CATV/CCTV, DAS, Paging, access controls, and othertelecommunications systems and their respective infrastructure support systems.
This includes producing low voltagetelecommunications infrastructureengineering documentation (i.e. engineering drawings and installation specifications), White-papers, and Technology Master Plans. Otherresponsibilities include; estimating hours needed to perform IT work, managing your time to meet project schedules, site surveys, inspection services, RFI Reviews, and product specifications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Produce design and engineering documents, including engineering drawings and specifications, of Low Voltage IT System that includes; designing TR Room, LAN Server Room Layouts, telecommunications floor plans, telecom riser diagrams, technology single line diagrams, copper and fiber termination details, cabling schedules, rack elevation views, sectional details and grounding and bonding designs.
•Assist a ME in entrance facilities sizing, HVAC environmental control equipment heating parameters, lighting, cable entry sizing spacing for other services.
•Consulting, Engineering and design of complex voice, data (LAN/WAN), wireless WiFi, CATV/CCTV, DAS, Paging, access controls, and othertelecommunications systems and their respective infrastructure support systems.
•Client site surveys for documentation and preliminary cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions and on site assignments to document existing conditions and collect telecommunications design requirements.
•Coordinate system layout and drawings with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and architectural design for lighting parameters, HVAC parameters, and UPS sizing.
•Design Telecommunications systems, including preparation of contract documents, calculations and ROM cost estimating.
•Inspect work in progress and completed work during CA services.
•Complete complex and specialty types of copper and fiber outside plant, including duct bank and conveyance systems.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Head, or Project Manager.
•Minimum BS Degree in Computer Information, Engineering or similar technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience or equivalent military/government work experience
•BICSI RCDD Certification
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite of Products
•Working knowledge of design guidelines and building codes
•Federal work experience and Revit/BIM knowledge desirable.
•OSP, ESS, CISSP, PSP, PMP and NTS credentials desirable
•Intern Engineer (EIT) or Professional Engineering License desirable
