Industrial Alliance Securities is seeking a Head of Institutional Sales candidate for its Toronto Office with experience as a Managing Director and/or Head of Sales to lead our institutional equitysales desk.

Reporting to the EVP and Head of Capital Markets, the Head of Institutional Sales will be responsible for leading an established sales team, with staff in both Toronto and Montreal, to develop and maintain relationships with, and service to, buy-side portfolio managers/accounts and interface with our analysts in order to maximize agency commissions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The dissemination and sale of research products, organizing conferences, corporate access meetings, reverse marketing, and analyst marketing. The candidate is expected to both cover accounts personally and lead the sales desk to perform appropriate account coverage consistent with the strategy of the firm.


A minimum of 8+ years of experience in Institutional Equity Sales

Strong relationships with portfolio managers and buy-side analysts.

5+ years of experience managing a team

Passion for finance and the capital markets.

Self-motivated and high attention to detail.

Able to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and manage several on-going projects simultaneously

Outstanding knowledge of current industry and financial news.

Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills to present investment ideas

Well organized

Positive attitude and capable of fostering a collegial and positive culture within his/her team and across functional departments within the dealer

Completed CSC, CPH exams (with active license preferred) and PDO

CFA charter holder (preferred)

U.S. license (an asset)

French/ English bilingualism considered an asset
